Internal News

Company owners often stay at the control desk too long, hindering the promotion of new blood and stunting the ongoing growth of the company. Managers of family-run enterprises are particularly prone to falling into this trap.
Relinquishing the reins is therefore a desirable virtue in far-sighted company directors while motivated young executives are the potential fruit of successful corporate policy.

I have therefore decided, not least for the sake of my health, to step back a little and to hand the reins over to our own Mr Andreas Villiger with effect from the beginning of April 2009.

Mr Andreas Villiger is ideally suited to this job given his qualifications and his background in notable companies in the plastics industry. As head of plastics processing for the last two years he has shown drive and has whipped the department into shape.

As Chair of the Administrative Board and Deputy Director I will remain active in the company, taking charge of quality management and new technologies. I also remain at your service in direct project management and can still be contacted with reference to project work.

The Administrative Board should like to take this opportunity to wish Mr Andreas Villiger all the best in his new role and every success as he takes on this new challenge. We are certain that he will make a very positive impact in his work for our customers and our company.

Kind regards,

Andreas Bützer
Chair of the Administrative Board

The REACH Regulation

Definition:
Registration
Reporting of all ingredients ( of content) to the central agency including reference to the intended use
Data on dangerous properties and evaluation of risk depending on the amount

Evaluation
Estimation of data reported by the member states
If needed, request for additional tests

A

Admission or rather substitution of particularly alarming substances

Effects of REACH on our customer base:
Most probably there will be no effects because we produce manufactured items for our customers and for those the REACH Regulation applies only in very rare cases. If this should be the case for one of our customers, we would immediately inform him about this in person.
Since the registration is a costly matter, it may happen that the monomer manufacturers may undertake a clearing up of different types. This might have the effect that certain materials are no longer available in a variety of types as they are today.

Activities by BÜTZER:
We are in very close cooperation with our suppliers in order to ensure that you will receive all necessary information in time. Due to the communication we consider ourselves to be capable of acting fast and safely.

We hope to have provided you with sufficient answers to some of the questions regarding REACH. Should you have further questions or need additional information, please feel free to contact us. Your contact partner will be the manager of the department of plastics processing, Mister Andreas Villiger, andreas.villiger(at)buetzer.ch Ph.: +41 (0)31 868 88 26

We will keep you updated regarding our next steps in relation to this topic.
